Technames Pulse is a weekly blog about Executive moves and other topics from Technames Inc.
Background: In 2004, Technames developed the Pulse web crawler. The crawler was designed to take snapshots of Executive pages and return to those pages regularly to see if there are any changes. For years, Technames has been using the crawler internally to help maintain our internal database and keep our staff up to date on executive moves, companies that go out of business and mergers and acquisitions.
We have always felt that our information gathered by the Pulse crawler was valuable and our clients have always been amazed at how much we know about the “pulse” of the corporate world. Now we are making some of that information available to the world through the Technames Pulse blog: Our weekly Top Ten Executive moves.
The Top Ten Executive moves are discovered by the Pulse crawler and digested by one or more of the researchers on our team. The weekly rankings are based on: gut feelings, nostalgia, prominence of either the hiring company or the company that the person left, coup factor, the level of the past or present job, the track record of the person hired and / or the impact that we feel the executive will have on the company. Each week, we discover 20-50 new executive additions (from the 1600 companies we currently track). This number will grow as we work to expand our coverage.
Our Top Ten list is meant purely for entertainment value. For executives, you might see your friends or past co-workers show up on the list from time to time. For recruiters, you will see candidates and past clients on the list all the time. I hope you enjoy reading our Pulse Top Ten Executive moves and check back often!
