For my first Top Ten Executive moves blog post, I am highlighting Art Swift. There are many reasons that I chose Art Swift to highlight this week. First (but certainly not the most important), in our research database that we have been using since 1992, it took us a little while to figure out that we needed a “creation date” field. So, any record in my database without a creation date is very old and cherished here at Technames. Art’s record is the only one of this batch that does not have a creation date, which means that we have been tracking his career since 1992-1994. Second, I have actually spoken to Art (one of the thousands of recruiter calls that he has gotten in his career, so he probably doesn’t remember me) and I remember him being an extremely nice guy. Finally, in my opinion, Art will do a great job at MIPS and they are lucky to have him. He has 5 years of experience as CEO, perhaps this is in his future at MIPS? Only time will tell.
